about

The ancient art of Augury is a divination method to discover divine approval of proposed plans by observing the behavior of birds. It developed independently in many cultures, and played a strong role in Greek Tragedy. From its intuitive beginnings with Crows on the Swing Set, this album evolved into an exploration of Augury and the rather grim future foretold by the disappearance if billions of birds and other animals from the earth.

This set of sonic portraits of places is both real and imaginary; set in both past and future; a foreboding that is realized. This journey starts with imagined sounds of Titanic Sirens & Bluebirds along a sea of methane. Followed by Crows and Ravens; the most portentous birds in Augury. The story ends with the discourse of post-apocalyptic birds along a tree choked highway.
